Choiceland Mayor's Message
Greeting from the Town of Choiceland, Saskatchewan, Canada!
It is with a great deal of pleasure and pride that I Welcome you to the Town of Choiceland’s web-site. I sincerely hope that you will find it both entertaining and enlightening.
Choiceland has chosen the slogan "The Choice Route." This is in reference to our location at the north end of highway 6, The most direct link North and south in the Province of Saskatchewan.
Highway 6 begins at Raymond, Montana. Follow Highway 6 North for 90 miles (140 km) and you arrive at our Capital City, Regina. Proceed north 20 miles (35km) and you cross the scenic Qu’Appelle Valley. For the next 180 miles (300km) you travel over some of the finest farm land in the world. However, the "Choice Route" is not just flat farmland because 35 miles (60km) north of the City of Melfort or just 17 miles south of Choiceland you cross the mighty Saskatchewan River.
The building of a Hydro-Electric Dam downstream has created a major Recreation area. Trophy size Walleye Fishing, Boating, Camping, Hunting, Cross-Country, and Downhill Skiing can all be found here.
Imagine, all of this available and only 20 minutes from downtown Choiceland.
The Town of Choiceland sits on the Southern edge of the "Great Northern Forest." Proceed 16 miles (25km) north of Choiceland along a well-marked all-weather gravel road and you link up with Highway 106. There you enter a vast, unspoiled land of virgin forest and clean pristine lakes, where you can enjoy all of the activities associated with trees and pure water.
So, whether you choose to make Choiceland simply an overnight stop at one of our two free campgrounds or whether you choose to make Choiceland your future home or place of investment, I know you will be most favourably impressed with what we have to offer – safe and modest housing, excellent water, reasonable taxes, good shopping, recreational, and educational facilities.
Most of all,
I know that you will be warmly received by our Most Valuable Resource – Our People!
Respectfully,
Mayor Wayne Debler
